This is a coroporate level position:
Strategic Sourcing Specialist-Silica, Limestone,Rouge
Primary Duties:
Responsible for establishing and managing strategic procurement initiatives within the Building Products business unit including:
• Negotiate and manage supply agreements for direct material and transportation requirements
• Establish and manage annual financial budget for direct materials and transportation
• Develop contingency plans and risk management strategies for critical direct materials and transportation
• Ensure the purchasing function adheres to PNA Purchasing Policy Procedures including developing key direct material suppliers to meet QS-9000 commitments.
• Develop and operate global and regional performance metrics
Responsible for supplier development activities including coordination of supplier conferences, supplier performance scorecard program, and on-site quality system assessments
Responsible for representing Our Client at outside organizations, i.e. NAPM, GPTC, etc.
Responsible as secondary buyer for atmospheric gases and energy
Ensure compliance to Customs Trade Partnership Against Terror (C-TPAT) regulations.
Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or related field
• Specialized knowledge of glass batch materials and inbound transportation industries
• Five years or more experience in procurement or related field
• Contract negotiation expertise
• Proficiency with computers and multi-media related tools
• Self-directed and self-motivated
Qualifications Desired:
• Knowledge of Operating Excellence (six sigma) methodologies
• ISO/QS-9000 auditor training and/or experience
• Knowledge of AS400 purchasing systems (e.g. PASS)
• Minimum 3 years experience successfully managing people in a manufacturing environment.
