Process Specialist Hot End

The ideal candidate will have previous float glass experience combined with a positive attitude and true desire to succeed. (However, we are now considering anytpe of hot end experience). Someone who has hands on problem solving experience on the hot end combined with some leadership experience and further aspirations. We are aggressive and energetic. Primary Duties:
Provide direction and leadership to Hot End workforce through direct and indirect supervision to ensure completion of production schedules and projects while exceeding budget yield.
To instigate studies and actions to overcome quality and safety problems, to reduce waste, and improve team performance.
To train team members in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure regular audits for the maintenance of such procedures.
To assist in the development of new products or processes and systems; where necessary, contribute to research and development projects to meet future demands.
To set up systems for process capability measurement and training team members in statistical process control (SPC), in order to ensure that internal/external customer needs are met.
To guarantee that process standards correspond to the plant objectives, costs, and supply in order to meet the needs of the customer.
To ensure that 5S systems are developed and maintained.
To continually improve the performance of the plant and team through planning and coordination.
Accountable for the health and safety of employees and to ensure compliance with all established Health & Safety rules and the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Qualifications Required:
· Bachelors Degree in engineering preferably chemical or ceramic
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· 2 – 5 years shift supervisory experience
· 2 – 5 years of manufacturing or glass making experience
· Excellent planning and organizational skills
· Demonstrated leadership and people skills
· Microsoft office Skills
