Job Title: Electrician, Leaderman

Reports To: Electric Foreman


SUMMARY
The Electrical Leaderman is directly in charge of the safe production on the job site and responsible for the
crew assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides crew with work assignments and authorizations as received from the Foreman
Assist Foreman in scheduling, planning and evaluating work loads
Motivate and instruct subordinates within craft
Provide technical assistance and assists as necessary in the performance of complex work according to
skills and/or abilities
Evaluate subordinates as to their progress
Order materials, tools and parts as directed for Foreman
Must be able to perform all electrical functions with no supervision such as: read and interpret blueprints
and wiring diagrams, set up, operate and trouble shoot electrical equipment, oversee and conduct tests on
completed work, perform complex hook ups and installation

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise craft employees assigned to crew
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential
duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
required.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of wire sizes and capacity of each
Thorough knowledge and understanding of AC and DC power and control of same

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college preferred.Five + years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical
procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure
manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers,
clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages,
area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only
limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be
met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently
required to stand (minimum of two hours while conducting regular work duties), walk, sit, use hands and
fingers, reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on board ships. The
employee will frequently use both hands to grasp rails while climbing, to hold and carry tools and
equipment, to operate tools and machinery. The employee must be able to respond to voice or visual
commands. The employee must be able to lift 50 pounds on a consistent (daily) basis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those
an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job: wet or humid conditions (nonweather),
working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places; exposure to fumes or
airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold or extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and
vibration. The employee must be able to work in confined spaces. The noise level in the work
environment is usually loud.

SAFETY
Must comply with Company safety rules and OSHA standards. Must be physically and medically qualified
to wear required personal protective equipment as prescribed under OSHA standards.
