Position Description
Position Title: Mechanical Engineer II
General Function:
Responsible for the mechanical BOM issue, Redesign, and Value Engineering of all products under the Standard Products umbrella. Assist Service and Sales in technical discussions on same product.
· It is every employee’s responsibility to be aware of and work with, current documented Quality Management System as it pertains to their job requirements.
· Design and layout of mechanical components in AutoCad and Solid Modeling,
· Selection of bearings, gearing, pneumatic and hydraulic components,
· Value Engineering,
· Creation of Bills of Materials
· Evaluate customer specifications and comply with machinery output.
· Assist in the continuous process improvement of the standard product line.
· Work on special projects assigned by the Director, Product Engineering.
Manufacturing/Assembly Personnel, Sales and Marketing Personnel, Service Personnel
Reports To: Director, Product Engineering
Education:
Must have a BSME or equivalent 4-year experience in related mechanical field.
Experience:
Must be proficient in AutoCAD 2000 and Solid Modeling - Preferably AutoDesk Inventor 7.0 (or later) or Equivalent Solid Model Package (e.g. Solid Works). Must be familiar with industry design drafting standards such as ANSI Y14.5 (1994 or later). Must have good technical written communication skills. Must be familiar with typical Microsoft Office software. Must have a working knowledge of ISO 9001. Design Experience in High Speed Rotating Machinery and knowledge of CE (European Safety Standards) are a plus.
